One of my best friends lives in Bet, and she wears a shawl. She's really inspired me to improve my level of tznius, without saying a single word. I have never heard a "preachy" thing come out of her mouth. She's one of the most honest, down to earth people I've ever met. Nothing like the "crazy fanatic" stereotypes you hear about "shawl ladies". She's a BT, Breslover. We both had a very colorful "past life", and we bonded over our love of Yiddishkeit. Added to their shawl look, they add a cone underneath shawl to look like a mountain & not a person, so men don't see their form.

I was once in a class when a classmate handed in something with the word stereotype written as stereo type among other spelling mistakes and I’ve never thought of the word the same again. Always brings to mind a picture of a certain type of person holding a stereo!
