This morning I got to shower in peace for the first time in a long time. I kept listening out for the cries that normally start the minute I close the door. but it was quiet so I figure the kids are happy. the minute I step out I discovered the reason for the peace and quiet. my son managed to pick up the heavy glass cover for the cake platter, and was happily eating chocolate cake for breakfast!!! He was very generous and fed some to his younger brother too.

Really gross story here. I have to post it b/c I have to know if I am the only one this happened to. I am to embaressed to post it normally. When I walked int he room, I found my baby playing with a dirty diaper. YYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK. I freaked. I checked his mouth to make sure he didn't eat it. His hands were dirty so I obviously washed them with soap and hot water. I feel like such an idiot for not throwing out earlier but I was in a hurry (excuses excuses excuses..). I am the only one this happened to????

It happened by me twice. The way it happened my oldest was still in diapers\. She hated to be in a dirty diaper so as soon as she went she took it off and my son took it and started eating it. I freaked out and I washed his mouth 100 times just to get everything out and I called the DR and he said it is ok you have nothing to worry about,

Is Zu the only one who takes them off himself. I have come in countless times when he wakes up from a nap and he is stripped. He tends to poop in his sleep, and sometimes just takes it off and goes back to sleep. Sometimes though he gets himself into trouble and plays with it a bit though. GROSS!!! We have considered duct taping his diapers on.

Zu, put them on backwards!!!
(even though some kids figure this one out eventually)

My mother said that before the diapers were invented, the kids were able to squirm out of the wrappings & palayed with #2 rather regularly...
Gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And many of them checked out the taste too.
(even worse)

putting on a undershirt that snaps on bottem might make it more difficult for the child to get into his diaper.
My brother had a child who used to take off her diaper all the time... he used to use duct tape, but she would get it off anyway, although it did stall her a little.

On the subject of kids eating yucky things: My friend was standing on her stoop, noticing the bird droppings there. Her little daughter told her, "Mommy, you know, that's not ice cream. You know how I know? I licked it..."

Baruch Hashem it's not happened to me, but my best friend had it happen on several occasions with a couple of her kids. She used to walk into the room to a terrible smell only to discover that the kid had painted the crib and walls with the contents of his diaper - now that is gross.

At least the kids took their nappies off!
My son had a stage where I would walk in his room in the morning and smell a vile stench and I would look at him and his cot and see he had poo all over his legs, hands, face, hair, cot, bed sheets, walls.
He still had his nappy on.
I got him out of there fast and dunked him in the bath, stripped his bed and cleaned his cot and walls with antibacterial wipes.
My husband wears glasses so one morning he went in without them on and he thought at first that our son had eaten chocolate in bed...dunno where he would have got the chocolate from though.
I found that by buying the all in one pyjamas with a zip that goes all the way down (not the popper buttons coz he opens those) he stopped painting the walls. But now he can take off those pyjamas but as I haven't had an incident for a while now I think he has got over that stage of his life.
So perfectly normal that kids do it even though it is disgusting.
