"The Salad" with Fruit
pretentious title, I know
Salad
Assorted greens - romaine and baby or spring lettuces are our favorites
1-2 cubed mangos
1 box sliced strawberries
handful craisins
handful honey glazed almonds
Mix in big serving bowl.
Dressing:
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil, less is OK too
1 tsp salt
Cook over low flame for 5 minutes, until sugar melts. Cool and dress salad.

I don't use a European salad mix. You can roll your eye back into your head, now.

The vinegar will melt the sugar, you don't need to boil it.

I use the liquid from the frozen strawberry box instead of sugar. No cooking.

I used to cook the dressing, but I don't anymore, I find it to be totally unnecessary. Just whisk it all together for a minute or two to dissolve the sugar, works for me.

I don't like finding clumps of sugar or a ton of sugar at the botton of anything, so that's whyi cook it first in everything.

thats probably a good idea if the dressing will sit before using. but if using right away a whisk should be fine w/o cooking.

Correct anyways as shanie5 says if the sugar is beaten whisked really well then there are no clumps an then no cooking is required. Well atleast cm I can say you are creative b/c I would not have ever though of doing that for a salad dressing
