I’d like to take a course to help me teach remedial reading and / or leveled reading groups. Has anyone taken one online, or in person they’d recommend? Perhaps an Orton Gillingham course? I’m working with 1-3rd graders. Thanx!

What about the Wilson course? It's great for the younger grades.

The Wilson certification process is an amazing course but very intense course. It involves a lot of work online and working one on one with a specific child that meets certain qualifications. You need to do over 60 full lessons with the child and be observed by a Wilson trainer. The course takes 6mo to a year to complete depending on how often you see the child. It’s a course that teaches one how to work with people who have a significant reading delay such as dyslexia. It’s more than just a few day workshop to be used as remedial for children who need extra help. Wilson is for children and adults who need intense reading remediation.
I took the course so feel free to pm me for more info. Hatzlacha!
