I almost always get him a CD. He doesn't play it, I wind up playing it, and finally keep it with my music.
This year I'm cutting out the middleman. I'm just buying myself a CD.

I don't usually "do" Chanukah gifts, but I'm trying to go the extra mile right now to make my husband feel special...
I got him the "Shabbos Alarm Clock" -- because the one he has now is impossible to set and to fiddle with in the dark -- and because he always needs to reset his alarm for me so I can wake up when I need to. The Shabbos Alarm Clock has FIVE separate alarms, and in Shabbos mode they go off automatically after one minute. Woohoo!
Now in case the website is thinking of grabbing this to use as a testimonial, I will say that I think doing that was rather unethical at best and illegal at worst. So please don't use my words without permission. Thank you.

So far, I bought DH a silicone bundt pan and a cake mold that is shaped like a flower. I also got him two cooling trays.
What can I say, except that DH happens to make wonderful cakes! He was just mentioning how he might be wanting a new bundt pan, and then laughed about how others might react to a guy wanting cooking utensils. He also makes delicious kugels and chicken .
I would love to get him tickets to a Broadway show, but I haven't been able to figure out the details yet (how to get him away from work on time, how to pay for it without him finding out). Any ideas?

There is a site where you can buy a gift certificate for broadway tickets, then they pick the show and the time. They are for the best seats available, the only downside is that you can't opt for cheaper tickets-- it is a flat fee.
I bought this as a thank you gift for someone recently.
I don't remember the name of the site, but Google "broadway gift certificate" and it will probably be the first hit...

DH requested a particular set of sfarim so that's what he's getting. Nothing too exciting or romantic but he NEVER says that he wants something so now that he did, I'm grabbing it!

Last year I got him something small for almost every night. A car thing that you can plug electronics into, a little valet to hold his small stuff, a big smiley cookie, a pair of slippers, a pair of pajama shorts and for Shabbos/Motzai Shabbos a havdalah set. Can you tell it was shana rishona? I got him a GPS for his bday.
THis year I only want to do one thing, and he really really needs a jacket. He's the type of guy that won't wear anything until it's like snowing and than he'll wear his winter coat. Any idea of something in between that a guy who is not-yeshivish but sort of sometimes dresses like that would appreciate and actually wear?

Maybe you can try a pretty, warm sweater. Or a simple, short wool jacket.

Can you suggest any online links to something you have in mind? I'm so clueless to these things.

I'm sure I"ll go to the bookstore and find some books for him, but additionally I'm getting him a couple of Brooks Brothers no iron dress shirts. I've never seen no iron shirts that look as nice as these Brooks Brothers shirts - they look positively crisp when you pull them out of the dryer. Since my husband never has time for the cleaners and thus irons his own shirts, this is truly a gift for him!

Thanks for the links, sarah. I think the Jcrew ones are a little out of budget though...

I was going to get him a gift certificate on Amazon, but then today he bought an expensive book and told me that's instead of his chanuka present, so...

I bought him a punching bag bc he really loves that kind of stuff but he's gotten kinda out of shape si I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
And I'm getting him his fsvorite CD "Nissim".
And I'm getting him a Tefilas Haderech thingy for his care bc no matter what we ALWAYS forget to say it so maybe if I buy one we'll remember. O and he wants a tallis hamefoar. So we'll have to add that in somewhere to the budget.
And today he told me he wants a surprise chanuka/bday party for himself like I did last year. He's so funny!
Last year I got him a huge cake and a really nice black wool zip up sweater. He's also the type hat refuses to wear coats so this is it!
This year I want a nice leather bound tehillim with like silver filigree inlaid into it. I think those are beautiful. And I want a COOKBOOK and maybe Tefilas Channah.
