I've done p3 before, but starting SEIT and kind of getting cold feet... Where do I even start? How do I know what to work on? Maybe I should just stick with p3...?
Any tips, ideas, suggestions for a first time SEIT, are greatly appreciated!!!

Familiarize yourself with the IEP. Talk to parents about concerns. Observe your student. Work on specific goals stated on the IEP that are most important to help him/her function successfully in the classroom. Talk to the teachers. It's teamwork. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your reply! I guess I'm doing fine so far, I looked over the IEPs and spoke to parents. I'm nervous about the actual time with the children, but it's probably just normal anxiety about something new.

It's pretty much the same thing as P3. Just a younger age. Talk to teacher and parent to ask about concerns-what needs to be worked on. See iep goals. Print out/find an age appropriate skills assessment and do that with child after first spending some time getting to know child-schmoozing, playing a bit. Once you did assessment and spoke to people who know child and somewhat got to know child-you'll know what to work on and plan accordingly for each session.

Don't be nervous, once you get in there and see they're actual cute little kiddies and not a pile of paper you'll slide right into it!

Thanks seeker for the encouragement!
Can I ask you, how do you tell the teachers and kids to address you?
Mrs_____?
Morah_____?
First name/ last name?

I follow the classroom culture. I have worked in classrooms where all the teachers go by first name so I do too, and I've worked in places where everyone is "Mr/Ms Lastname" so I follow suit. I would say the most common is "Mr/Ms/Morah Firstname" but ask the classroom teacher what's done.

Hi! How’s it going ? I have been doing seit and p3 for years . Seit is usually mostly in class - so I find it less prep and easier than p3. You work on goals the child has , in least restrictive environment. I usually only take kid out at nap time. Colors, shapes, focusing ...all can be worked on during center time etc .... ieps aren’t always accurate . You will see yourself if the goals are good. Which agency do you work for ? Yeled has an assessment tool that is a good start. Hatzlocha!
