My 15 YO son goes to a Yeshiva that ends in June . He doesn't want to go to camp and he is not the type to spend his time learning or keeping himself productively occupied so we need something for him to do over the summer.
For his part he has some day camp office experience. He was willing to consider a summer job that was basically a glorified janitor.
We are also willing to pay someone (within reason)to give him a "make work" job. The main thing is that he should be kept busy and feel he is being productive.
If you have any ideas please post them.
Thank you

What's wrong with being a glorified janitor if he's willing to do that? One of my son's is the "cleaning man" at his dorm during the year and gets paid for it and enjoys doing it.
My other son has the job of reloading paper towels and toilet paper and folding and recycling cardboard boxes etc. at his yeshiva during the year and he gets paid for it as well. Both of them are very pleased with that type of position .
If your DS doesn't mind , let him.

Many boys schools in Lakewood have “school camp” in July and hire bachrim as counselors. Try Orchos Chaim, Cheder ect

We certainly would let him be a cleaning man. I mentioned it to give an idea of what he is willing to do.
They told him that they won't decide untill summer starts so we can't rely on them.

Kol hakavod to you and them.
They work; learning the value of productivity, responsibly, and earning money.
(As I said on the other thread, I like and am always impressed by you- hope you are having a good day)

In my neighborhood, daycamps don't hire such young kids as counselors. Call around daycamps and find out if they have a position for this age kid.
What are his friends doing?

Any factories around? My husband has a big wholesale bakery and has gotten requests for boys to work there. It helps if you know the owner!
(Different location)

Send him to my house, I have tons of work for him!
Our local yeshivas give the boys basic handyman skills, and they volunteer as part of their chessed work. There is a signup sheet that goes round monthly, and it fills up quick! Hanging pictures, taking heavy things down to the garbage can or curb, changing light bulbs in hard to reach places. Succah repairs, building Ikea furniture, Pesach cleaning, and lots of other stuff.
It's great "husband training", too!
If he's looking for spending money, you could have him advertise in local FaceBook groups, and hire himself out to do lawn service, painting, floor cleaning (I need help with this badly, because of back problems.) He can do delivery for catering places and delis. He can walk the neighbor's dogs and do pet sitting.
He could also volunteer to be a Big Brother to a special needs child.
