Chicken Schwarma
with thanks to Yalt and RosyCheeks
1 pkg of chicken cutlets cut lengthwise into small pcs (Google a picture of schwarma if you don't know what it looks like)
1-2 onion, cut up
3-4 Tbs BBQ sauce (any flavor)
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp garlic powder
Vegetables for a salad: tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, red pepper or scallions, fresh broccoli cut into small florets
Sautee onions in oil until golden. Add your cut up chicken and sautee further until cooked. Part way through, add the bbq sauce and spices and cook on low flame for approximately 1/2 hr, mixing occasionally.
Meanwhile, while that's cooking, cut up your vegetables for the salad, then toast your pita bread in oven for a few minutes.
To serve, assemble as follows:
Cut open your warmed up pita bread, put a layer of vegetables, a layer of chicken, a layer of vegetables, a layer of chicken.
Eat and enjoy!

Sounds delicious Chocolate Moose!!
Actually I always wondered if one can make Schwarma at home because I've seen them done in the restaraunts on such a machine which turns and it's sliced off as it turns.
But I guess there are different ways to make it. I definitely would like to try this.

I've taken leftover cooked chicken, cut off bone, fry with onions and spices and put in pita for a similar schwarma type food. yummy!
