Why wasn’t he admitted into a psychiatric ward? He obviously needs help and isn’t getting it by publishing his misdeeds and his picture in a magazine.

Money wasn't a factor because he turned down money from some of the families. I wonder what motivates a person to do this. Serious mental illness, probably.

They are saying that there are a total of 17 families duped.(so far) He knew exact details of each family. He must be extremely smart and have some mental weakness. He never asked for money...so there really isn't a crime. Very creepy.
What the Schischa family member said, that there are many seforim of a family's yichus, and I guess he studied that....

Story is so bizarre.

Like why not contact the families and say "I'm an amateur genealogist, I have all this info about your family, do you want a get-together?" I'm sure plenty of people would have been thrilled. why the deception, especially with no financial endgame? Seems so weird.

I also read it. How utterly creepy can a person be?! My lord! It can be for several reasons he did it. He probably derives extreme pleasures from doing this. Regardless, he’s crazy and cruel for winding up poor people and especially holocaust survivors. Unbelievable.
