So that I could sample some recipes before I buy.

There seem to be so many interesting ones I don't have, yet I have so many.

you can go on-line and request that the books get sent to your home library to pick them up - I do it all the time, and it saves me so much time.

Just do a search like "jewish kosher cookbooks" or if you know the ones you want, just type those in directly - when it comes up, there's a box to click to request it. Then you get an e-mail when it's ready to be picked up.

Couldn't be easier!

Brooklyn Public Library (all branches) has very few new Kosher Cookbooks other than Susie Fishbein's. Frankel on 16th has none of them. What other libraries are there?

don't you have to pay to join the bp library, and then pay again for each book? you might be better off borrowing from a friend or buying one book a year.

You're probably right, but I'm running out of space.

I happen to know that the Jewish library on 46th st. off of 15th ave has money designated to buy all the cookbooks that they don't already have. I don't know when they'll get to it, but you can check out what they have so far and inquire about when they're buying the rest.

membership for a year $15
