BH, I'm finally going back to work after being home with my kids for a long time. I never worked in a classroom while married. The culture in the school is mostly sheital wearing, though there are a few who wear tichels or hats. Anyway, I'm probably going to wear a sheital everyday because that's really the norm. What kind of sheital or style would you recommend? I've recently started experimenting and have found that I'm liking the half up look because it's out of my face...what is the easiest and most comfortable for you? Most of the teachers in the school look as though they're ready to go out as every day they are dressed to the nines, and are wearing long sheitals and makeup. I'm really low maintenance but want to fit in. What do you suggest?

Thank you.

Most teachers I know don't have a separate sheital for teaching. They wear what they usually wear whenever they leave the house.

I know most teachers wear what they always wear. I guess I thought that there might be more comfortable options...no idea. I guess I can't imagine wearing a sheital every day (I rarely wear one) and being comfortable for a long period of time every day. I can't stand hair getting in my face.

I also teach and wear a fall everyday but that could be a younger person thing to do. I rarely ever see anyone 40s and up wearing a fall. They usually wear short but fancy styled sheitels.

We’re not allowed falls in my school. I wear my pony or regular every day wig.

It took me a while to find a wig that fit properly, because I have a big skull. I found one that was very long, and I wear it up. There are some face-framing curls to cover the edges. I suggest trying cheap ones until you get the hang of daily wig-wearing. My two favorites were $30 and $40:)

I started with a long sheitel and foundation and lenses, ended with a snood, no make up and glasses LOL.

The best sheitel is one that's comfortable. Make sure the net fits well. I too need a large size and even trying on the medium size sheitels gives me a headache (that's if I can even get it on.)

I wear a style with bangs but find them uncomfortable especially in hot weather. The thing is that I don't like the way I look without them and think the sheitel looks more natural with bangs. The no-bang look is quite popular now and some people look great in it but it's not for me.

If you don't normally wear a sheitel, maybe stick to your own style. I wore headscarves teaching in a mainly sheitel school and I felt fine. Comfortable in my own skin - both physically and socially Wink

After my first two $100+ sheitels were too small (that scared me off sheitelmachers,) I started shopping at a local beauty supply shop. They are CHEAP. Once I am sure what I like, I will spend for a pricier human hair one. I am surprised that I (and dh) prefer a MUCH darker color than my natural hair!
