So it wasn't that you didn't have the time, you just really really did not want to be at theis wedding.
I find this behaviour really rude, and really puts a big question mark on why people make such big weddings to begin with. If oyu would just invoite your real friends to a wedding, you wouldn't get this behaviour.

Maybe it's her huband's friends. or a coworker. or neighbor.
ppl think they have to invite certain ppl . . and parties, sadly, cost a lot of money and if ppl don't really want to be there, I think it's sad .....
