This message was just posted on a chat from the community.
Rabbi Ozeri just reached out and said NOT to give to any fund raising for the family unless it is endorsed by the Community's Rabbis
So hold off for now.

Tragedy struck our community in Brooklyn early this morning, when a mother and three children passed away in a fast-moving house fire on East 14th St.
The deceased have been identified as Mrs. Aliza Azan A”H (39),
Moshe Azan Z”L (11),
Yitzchak Azan Z”L (7),
Henrietta Azan A”H (3).
The Levaya will be held at 7:00PM (tonight – Monday) at Beit Knesset “Shevet Achim”, located at Avenue T and East 7th Street in Brooklyn. The Niftarim will then be flown to Israel for burial.
Yossi Azan, the 45-year-old father, his 15 year old teenage son, and a 16-year-old cousin were critically injured; eight others, including six firefighters and two boys, had minor injuries.
Please say Tehillim for Shilat bat Louza Aliza (16) who is critical,
Daniel ben Louza Aliza (15) who is critical, and
Yosef ben Ahuva Masuda – the father who is critical.
**Please only donate to support funds approved by our Community’s Rabbis, and to none other.

From YWN:
Tragically, sources have confirmed that some of the children are classmates at Yeshivat Ateret Torah with the Sassoon children who were R”L killed in a tragic fire in Flatbush.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Azan family should go to YadYosef.org or click here: https://www.yadyosef.org/payment.php In the payment notes section, indicate that the funds are for the Azan Family. This is the fund run by Rabbi Ozeri

according to this article, the fire was started by a lit menorah |
They say they are not sure, speculating it was the Menorah, but not sure yet.
It was 2:00am, so it is possible the Menorah had been extinguished already.
Again they are not sure until all investigations are made.
This was the daughter of Rabbi Hamra,

I went to a chanukah party during the day where someone proudly showed off their menorah that was still buring from the night before.

The other night, we were using those plastic oil holders with solid oil in them and the plastic holders started to melt and my son-in-law extinguished the flames because they had burned for the required length of time already. I am not saying that everyone should do that; ask a rav but we certainly did not want that melting plastic to catch fire.
If someone lit late, say, 10 or 11 pm, it could still have been burning.

It seems the flames came from near the menorah and the "fire marshals suspect the glasses from the may have cracked under extended heat exposure, spilling oil and spreading flames, a Fire Department official said."

BDE. May the father and the children have a Refuah Shlaima.
The father, Yosi Azan, Amush, is a uniquely warm friendly and smart person.

I never understood how they make plastic holders for candles. They are NOT heat resistant. I avoid purchasing Yartzeheit candles if they have a plastic outside. They should be made of heat resistant glass or tins and placed on a heat resistant surface.

How?
I understand that sometimes people can forget to extinguish the flames when they go to sleep, because humans innocently forget, but why would anyone knowingly go to sleep in a house with a lit Menorah, and be proud of it?

What do you guys say to pre-filled oil cups that would only last 1 hour? Mehudar enough? I would purchase an item like that. I wonder if ner mitzvah would agree to make something like that if they thought they had a big enough market of consumers.
