Can someone tell me what is a brand of kosher tamarind sauce? When I look on Amazon I can't tell which brands are kosher.

Or can someone tell me where to buy this in Israel? What is it even called in Hebrew?

For years the kids and I have been making lachmajine but we know we're not getting the authentic flavor, and I have never tasted real lachmajine before.

Tamarind in Hebrew has called tamarindi/tamarhindi (Indian date). You can usually find it in stores that carry imported items, like East West in Jerusalem on Aggripas. You just have to look for a hechsher because not everything there is kosher. But I've definitely seen it kosher in Israel.

Thanks Teomima! I live in the modiin area so I'll check those spice/piztuchim stores.

I haven't looked for it recently but I think I've seen it in big Israeli supermarkets in the condiment section. Look for the soy sauce and chili sauce and it might be nearby.

IIRC, the Rami brand is under the KSA. Make sure you check, because not all of their products have a hecksher (I don't think their coconut oil does, but all of their spices do.)
