I bought in the store sweet onion dip and want to copy it. does anyone have a recipe? thanks

Thinly slice 3 spanish onions. Sprinle salt , pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Drizzle honey (about a tbsp) .
Place in small pan. Cover tightly and bake for 3 hours on 375, stirring every half hour. You want it to become nicely carmelized. I use an immersion blender to pulse it gently...dont want it very well blended. Add a tbsp mayo.
It made a nice big bath so I froze half of the carmelized onion for next time.

Or use s blade to finely chop sweet onion. Put in oven with oil. Bake till golden. Mix often. Add salt, onion poweder and garlic powder and mayonnaise. Can add sugar if u want it really sweet. I find it unnecessary

is there any way to make this with regular onions. I have never seen the spanish onions in my place.
