well - I bought the zuke specially for your kugel - which I wouldn't mind making just a half recipe of, to be perfectly honest.

do you just keep the uncut part in the fridge, for what you want it? not a lot is left!

I've halved and doubled the recipe as needed, plenty of times.
I use zucchini almost every night for dinner, so it doesn't stay long in the fridge.

That's not mine though! It's MIL sending.

It's in a graham cracker crust with chocolate topping on vanilla ice cream. I haven't had it in a while so I don't really remember

Can you tell me how you make it?

4 chicken cutlets, flattened
4 TBSP margarine, softened
1 TBSP parsley
1 TBSP chives
1 tsp crushed garlic
salt & pepper to taste
1/4 c. flour
1 egg with 2 tsp. water
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/2 c. honey
1/2 c. Dijon mustard

Blend margarine with parsley, chives, garlic, salt, pepper. Chill until firm. Place chilled margarine mixture in the center of a chicken cutlet. Roll up and completely enclose margarine. Dust with flour, dip in egg, roll in bread crumbs. Place on lightly greased pan. Cover and bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 15 minutes. Mix honey and mustard. Serve on the side.

I was in the butcher store and saw the flanken and the first time in probably 2 years decided I want cholent! Apparently the one thing DH made well in his single years was cholent. I'm going to test his abilities this Shabbos. Smile

Here's my meal so far mostly the usual menus I've posted:

Homemade Challah, I'm not a pro but I'm too stubborn to give up!
Supremely Spicy Chummus (sabra brand which DH loves)
Gefilte fish from a jar for DH and maybe DD, salmon for me
Marinated Tomato salad
Some other salad for me
Chicken soup with lokshen
I think I might make that Chicken Kiev recipe MMEC123 posted!
Sweet lokshen kugel
Brownies

By day mostly the same although cholent instead of soup. Can't believe I actually want to eat cholent!

And I'm being "bad" and making cheesecake for the morning.

CM, I make cholent with meat every week. First I fry the onion until translucent, then add the meat and brown it. It stays soft and it's very good. (I put in a lot of meat)

I always make cholent with beef, the meat never dries out. Chicken is usually harder to keep from drying out.

I was at my friend's house for shabbos lunch last week and she made SUCH A GREAT CHOLENT.

Here's the recipe:
Meat (she used crosspieces)
potatoes
bottle of beer
seasoned salt

That's it and it was great!!! Everyone inhaled that cholent.

My meal for tonight:
homemade challah
matzoh ball soup
schnitzel
meatballs with mushroom sauce
sweet and sour meatballs
butternut squash and potatoes w/ pasta
garlic greenbeans

cookies and melon for dessert

lately I've been buying dk. meat chicken and turkey off the bone from the butcher.

I make a mixed potato/sweet potato kugel and put it on bottom of pan. Put meat on top. Make sauce with 1/2 c white cooking wine, 1/2 water, double portions dried mushroom and onion soup mixes, and 2TB corn starch poured on top. Cook 45 minutes covered, 45 minutes uncovered.
Easy to double and freeze cooked or uncooked (if meat is fresh)
Yum!

Serve cooked veggies on the side.

We're too tired Fri night for fish or soup courses- but sometimes we start with a garden salad.

Homemade Challah (in the freezer from last week)
Gefilte fish from the jar
Salmon
Supremely Spicy Chummus
Marinated Tomato Salad
Mystery salad (can't figure out what but maybe Morrocan style carrots)
Chicken soup with lokshen
Honey Mustard cornflake chicken schnitzel (thank you imamother recipe section and in particular defygravity!)
Roast Chicken
Potato Kugel
Sweet Lokshen Kugel (also from the bashinda freezer)
Mystery dessert (either a chocolate pudding pie or brownies)

The real secret is no cold cuts. CM, can you believe it?? By day we're having the cold chicken.

Wink
