WE have this game we play on Friday nights after licht benchen - I sit on the floor with my arms wide open and the kids run down the long hallway corridor straight into my arms for a quick hug and then scamper off again for many repeat performances. Its a great nurturing game except last Friday night my 2 year old daughter didn't want to be released from my arms, she clung to me and wanted to stay in my lap and not share my arms with her brother. She was very tired. So 3.5 year old is running down the hallway and I can't hug him ...he says very thoughtfully - its ok...if you can't hug me now I'll hug myself and as he reaches me he wraps his arm around his chest!
Later that night my 2 year old made out that she wanted to be kissed so I kissed her but it seemed I had misread her. My 3.5 old helpfully offered to rub it off !!! ( something he always does when I kiss him!)
