CS... Thanks!

Funny thing was in 2000, I told people that if Bush won I was moving to Canada. Wow do things change in 4 years!

Thanks for all the info about the elections. Being in Israel it's sooo hard to keep up. I feel so distant and this election is so important to us. The last info I head was that the gallup (sp?) poll said they were tied... is that true!!?? OY VEY!!
Zu, thanks for the info about CSPAN. Do they still have the whole debate online, so we can watch it now after the fact? If not, do you know any other website that does?
I'm a big fan of Glen Beck, Sean Hannady and talk radio. I miss listening to them doing my daily routine. Any ideas on how I can still hear them? It's funny I never considered myself a political person until I got married to my husband... I used to kringe when anyone brought up the word "politics"... now he got us both addicted!! Smile

Hey yaffa!

Yes, they should still be online. We were planning on watching the first one tonight after Zu goes to bed. We watched the second one only last week.

From what I heard bush has pulled ahead again.

Funny what getting married can do to us! I was a stauntch (sp?) dem. before I got married. My husband while we were even dating brought up Rush Limbaugh and I listed to him to see who this guy was. It all has gone from there! Rush is now a staple in our home. And I listened to him so much while preg. with Zu that when he hears him he calms right now and gets his blanket and pacifier and curls up for a nap. Rush is the best baby-sitter I have ever found!!!

The main media bias on this upcoming election is downright scary. Kerry has the biggest publicity machine for free - television stations are only too quick to jump on any unsubstantiated fact as long as it is anti-Bush. and the newspapers are just as guilty. When I listened to my favorite talk show hosts during the day today, they seemed a little "depressed" - now that makes me very nervous.

CS- I noticed this too! OY!!! Even Rush sounded a bit down. OYOY!!!

This new weapons lies are really upsetting me! They are discrediting our soldiers (oh wait... one of the things Kerry does best) who witnessed it first hand, not just in some document.

you know we can all vote, and bush can win the popular vote- but that doesn't mean anything. the electoral college does. to win the electoral (the only one that counts) vote a candidate has to have 270 votes. but its possible for both to get 269. in that case it will be a tie and the presidency is decided by the house. which since is mostly republican means bush wins. HOWEVER the vice presidency is decided by the SENATE which is mostly democ. and that means we can have bush and edwards in office. the statistics for this happeneing are already 3% chance.
so whats the difference if we vote? our vote is supposed to make a difference, and in some states the electoral college MUST vote according to the popular vote, but in some states like W. virginia they don't. most states don't have to match.
we all saw how gore won the popular but lost the electoral- who's to say it can't happen again? so don't hold your breath.
personally I say go with the devil you know- bush. and I think that the system of deciding a presidency needs to be updated.
the only other time in history there was a tie was in the 1800's and thomas jefferson became president. the other candidate becasme vice president.

your right... the whole system is nuts. However if you live in a swing state its even more important to vote. For the first time I feel like my vote actually counts.
