I put a tent in our front yard for the kids to play in. It's a pop-up type, like the portable Sukkas, mesh hampers, etc.
I also keep my stroller in the tent when we're not playing in it.
Today my 3 y.o. said to me, "Mama, let's get the carriage from the hamper."

So, I had a difficult morning with my son, and got a bit too upset.
He came home from gan, and I wanted to make him feel better.
He was nice to the baby and I said "Ata yeled Tov!" You are a good boy..
He shook his head, looked sad and said "ani lo yeled tov..."
I thought, "Oh no, he has self esteem problems!"
"Ata yeled Tov, Schneur!" I insisted.
"Lo!" he shook his head. Then he pointed at the baby "Ho yeled tov" he's a good boy,
"Ani lo yeled tov, ani tzaddik!" I'm not a good boy, I'm a tzaddik!
(so much for worrying about his self-esteem! )

Shayna, my 3 yr. old also asked me that during my last pregnancy!
He was also very concerned about how the baby would get out "because your tongue is in the way"! |
Ok, I must say I seriously CRACKED UP!!! when I read that!!!

funny, Mimivan
Reminds me of when we taught my oldest to say "Ich Bin A Tzaddik" ("I am a Tzaddik") when he was learning to talk, he came back at us with: "Ich Bin a Lange Tzaddik!" ("I am a Final Tzaddik!")

Funny GR and gamzu...my son also kept saying "smelly feet" all the time. (wonder where he got that No other English speaking kids in the neighborhood, so guilty party is us!)
Anyway, he was learning aleph beit...and instead of saying Nun Sofit or Tzadik sofit, he would say "Tzadik smelly feet!"

Hysterical!
When my ds was learning to talk, we spoke to him also in Yiddish and he learned that a fork is a goppel. But someone told him it's a fork. One day he asked me for a fork which came out sounding more like...
My 2 yr old ds tried to nurse my baby!! He lifted his shirt and said, "come baby. Baby hunrgy."

Oh, yeah, my older one was just under 2 when I had the baby. He always tried to nurse him. It was CUUUTE!
Now he just lies next to the baby when I nurse him on the bed and supports his back gently, saying, "I'm helping _____ to drink milk!"

Schneur "ha tzaddik" nursed his little lamb doll on Shabbos. He told me only he could pick his baby up, because I would hurt him!

My daughter lets me know every once in a while when it's time for me to get a haircut. I usually have my mother give me one since I can't see what I'm doing. Anyway, one day, my whole family was there at my parents and I thought I could sneak away for a few minutes to get a haircut without anyone noticing. When I came out of the bathroom I hear my daughter announcing to loudly to everyone sitting at the table: Babby gave mommy a haircut!!

These are so much fun to read!
My toddler was mad at me and had a look on his face like he wanted to say something awful. Finally he blurted out, "MOMMY, YOU ARE NOT BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!" boy was I flattered!
