Or if I can enter whatever I want and no one checks up on it, then it won't matter how exactly I enter it. |
This is what I worry about too! I'm always concerned when I enter something into TEACH and it looks like it went through, is it going to come back and haunt me later?!

Pewter another, when you took the courses from thirtee.org, how many PD hours did you put down?

Rosemarie wrote: | Seeker, you seem to know your way around this. I never did professional development for my certification yet (took workshops but that was before my PD period started). I have no idea how to report courses that I took. Can you help?
Firstly, do they ever ask for proof of the courses I report? I see everything is self reported and I dont have to send in a documentation, or so it seemed to me.
Second, if I take an online class from https://www.ecetp.pdp.albany.edu (found this link on another thread here), what do I fill in for name of provider, provider type (options are BOCES, college/university, school district, teaching center, other/out of state), amount of hours-course was 1.5 hours but the certificate says 0.15 CEUs. Same for a workshop I took in a private school, the certificate is from Office of Child and Family Services, what do I write for name and type?
Hope I dont sound dumb, I hate feeling so clueless. I like to know how to do things well and am usually glad to be able to help others figure out how to do it too. |
That albany website is a great resource. You put other/out-of-state. Yes, ditto for private school. They don't really ask for proof up front, but I was told to but as much information--including as specific credentials for the presenter (like PhD, MsEd, OT,SLP-CCC, BCBA) as possbile just in case of an audit. And keep/scan the certificates. And the total if you've never worked in a public school goes down to 87.5

I don't think the system will reject anything... You can write whatever you want, we just don't know if they will audit us.
Hiddensparks.com has free webinars throughout the year, its very helpful...

So, question for all of you in this thread: I have a relative with a teaching certificate but is working in a different field. She wants to keep this teaching license active in case a teaching job becomes available.
But, she did not do any PD hours in the five years since she got this teaching certificate. Does this mean her certificate expired???
Thanks
