Skip the cute and go for sincere. Dear Mr. & Mrs. Giftgiver, thank you so much for whatever it was and say something about the use to which you're putting it. If money, are you buying an Israel bond, saving it for ds education, or buying him new clothes for YT? If they gave clothes, will he wear it on YT or when school starts? If a book, have you already read it to him a dozen times in the past two days? If a toy, will it keep him occupied during those long days of YT? Then thank them for participating in the upsherin if they did, say you missed them if they didn't, wish them a gut gebenched yohr and finished.

As always, I agree with zaq. Its a big pet peeve of mine when people make the note like its coming from the kid - and then write it in "kid" language. Skip the cute - often those cutesy letters arent personal. Thank them by name, mention what the gift was (the cute ones never do that), and thank them fir coming. Sign kids name but add your too!
