How do you explain dinosaur bones?

They don't claim to know the color of dinasours, it's only a guess, they all say that. They do sometimes know the texture of their skin from the imprints on the ground.

Someone told me that the נחש was a dinasour and after he made Chava sin all the dinasours turned into snakes. That makes no sense in many different levels.
People here are saying that they never even existed in this world, Hashem made them many worlds ago, so who knows? It's all speculation, nobody really knows.

Huh? Sounds like some paleontologist has a good imagination.

Even the bones they find are usually scattered and they have to use a lot of guessing to reconstruct.

I don't think they've ever found an entire fossil just yet.

Other than what we call "figures of speech" which other accounts in the Chumash are not literal?

To everyone that is saying the six days of creation are not meant to be taken literally: where are you getting this from?

I was always under the impression that the Torah was written expressly for humans for us to understand and learn from, and as orthodox jews we believe that every (other?)account therein actually happened exactly as described.

Also, if you think this has something to do with human perception of time, how do you understand the use of the words evening and morning, before even the sun and moon were put out?

I wasn't commenting on Dinosaurs or creation at all. Just saying that time can be measured differently in today at the same time with our current variables. Once you add other variables into the picture (different gravitational pull, matter, etc.) a 24 hour day need not actually be 24 hours as we know it. I wasn't really commenting on anything specific. As for complete fossils: Yes, Yogabird, scientists have found complete fossils. They have even uncovered skin fragments that were preserved quite well in a particularly rich sediment. Dating is also a controversial issue because we don't have an actual control to compare and age: we don't really know what something looks like after 3,000 years: maybe it starts to age at a quicker rate? Maybe weather conditions were different and impacted aging? Things are aged accordingly, and time was different than we know it today. None of this is contrary to the Torah at all and Rabonim will discuss it with those who are interested. The zohar discusses time, and there is a concept of large creatures like Dinosaurs.....

See my post above. A fossil that is 80% complete is considered record-breaking. And a lot of bones were not in the right place.

I'm assuming you're the same amother who made the assertion that they've found dinosaurs sitting on their eggs?

I am not a paleontologist and even I would have been able to tell which was a hip bone and which was a skull, even if the hip bones had been swept upstream of the skull.

Just like Adam and chava were created "old" ie. all grown up, already adults etc Hashem created objects that look older than they are. Hashem is almighty- he can create anything He wants- even things to make us think the world is older than it is!
