how do you do it? my machine says not to wash anyhting used with chemical. I was planning on ignoring that warning...

but I have a rag I used with water to wash off ammonia from the floor, another rag I used to clean up the easy off from my oven before pesach, and another rag I used to wash the bleach/soft scrub from my bathroom. do I have to wash each of these individually? or can I run them together through a rinse cycle first to get any chemicals out? would this cause fumes?

hey the inside of your machine will get a good cleaning ... but if you want to be careful I would rinse them separately first in the sink ... amonia and bleach are a powerful toxin ...

I can't exactly afford to buy new rags or use an old tshirt every time I clean something... what do you clean with then?

I never even realised it would be a problem. Whats the difference between washing a rag used to clean with bleach and adding bleach to my washing??

that's not what the problem is, I also have rags with ammonia and easy off, which I don't even know what chemicals it has in it... they're not supposed to be mixed and can cause fumes.

my floor has to be washed with ammonia, and I really don't want to make a wash of one rag every time I wash my floor. though I will if that's the only way.

hey dr pepper ... I said if you want to be careful of the fumes ... so long as the washer is not where the kids are ... I would actually throw em all in ... some tide/downy ... they will smell delish ...

lol I'll be brewing a chemical stew, but so long as it smells like spring flowers it's a-okay.

I think you could just rinse it off well in your bathtub and then wash it along with everything else.

Don't stand over the washing machine and breathe in the fumes, and keep the room ventilated until it gets to the rinse cycle. Shouldn't be a problem.
