The fifth son at the seder
is the son that is assimilated
and does not even attend the seder.

Rabbi Riskin has talked about that in the past. No matter how rebellious the fourth son seems to be he at least came.

and while he is not attending he is still thinking about it ... it is engrained ... he cannot help but think about it ... it probably makes him angrier ... but he is still thinking about pesach ... and wants it deep down ...

the one who does not attend is not thinking about Pesach, he/she is ignorant of their Jewish heritage, doesn't know it's Pesach, knows nothing about a seder
This idea of the "fifth son" is the Lubavitcher Rebbe's. It has been borrowed (and not attributed) by many.
