Hi I'm looking for a recipe for tomato salad but I have a lot of requirements and therefore I am having a hard time finding a recipe. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it! I am looking for a tomato salad recipe that does not have pine nuts, sugar, or avocado.

We're not specifically into spicy round here but thanx anyways!

Quinny you're recipe sounds good, but I'm wondering if it's more of a bland taste?

I would think more like a caprese salad minus the cheese. Tomatoes, FRESH basil, crushed garlic, good quality olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt and fresh cracked pepper.

I toss with oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and any seasoning you want, like garlic powder. You can add chopped onion, scallion, and/or parsley.

If you like actual recipes, here's a cherry tomato salad recipe from the Lakewood Voice (Heart) magazine (I never made it.)

2 containers grape or cherry tomatoes
1 bunch scallions
juice of 1 lemon
1 Tbs olive oil
1 cube frozen crushed garlic
1 cube frozen pre-checked chopped basil
1 tsp salt

Cut tomatoes in half or quarters, depending on size.
Slice scallions on a slight bias. Toss all ingredients together. Serve cold.

You can use thinly sliced red onion instead of the scallions.
