yes
He was my halacha teacher and I aslo took his Bayis Yehudi class.
Such a very nice man, so easy to talk to.
15 children, I think.
South American, talmid of R' Moshe Feinstein z'l.
Was sick for so long with different things, heart, diabetes. Only 62

My dh tells a story about when R. Blumenkrantz came to speak in the beis medrash where he was then learning. He said he was in NYC and a someone yelled something akin to "dirty Jew". He looked right at him and said, "You're jealous!" He said to the beis medrash, "Boruch Hashem, no one ever mistook me for Elvis Presley! The worst they ever thought I was, was A JEW! Thank G-d!"

Though he was quite handsome!
Interesting tidbit: as a bochur, Rabbi Blumenkrantz studied for a number of years in Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim (Lubavitch) on Bedford and Dean.
He also wrote "Gefen Poriya" on Taharas Ha'Mishpacha and helped kallos pick a wedding date - he was proud that he did so accurately!
