I am a pro in the kitchen,
I have been cooking in my mothers house since I was a teen
but I cannot clean.
I've gotten some of it down but for some reason whenever I do dishes,
they feel and look clean and tehn after they dry I notice that there is always some kind of residue, their not relaly clean.
please teach me how to wash dishes, I'm married a year and this is kind of desperate.
oh and ive changed my dishwashig soap and scrubbis pleanty of times

Do you soak them first in hot water and dishwashing liquid. That helps. Or maybe you can get a dishwasher.

I do my milchig dishes by hand (fleishig go in the dishwasher) but I have the same problem-- residue!
I think soaking in a bin of hot soapy water in the sink would be a great first step. I did this when I had no dishwasher in Israel, and cleanup was always easy, most things only needed a rinse!
B"H for my dishwasher. I would probably cook a lot less and use paper if I didn't have one...

I know someone who always has in her sinks a container with soapy water which she puts her silverwear into right when she clears off the table.
It really makes such a difference!
And, less scrubbing too!
P.S. you can also have a larger container (of soapy water) for the larger items (plates, cups, pots & pans).

use gloves, but keep a jar of eucerin near the sink. before you wash the dishes and put on those gloves, smear on some of the cream.
then youll have yourself beautiful dishes and beautiful hands......

Hey I thought I was OCD but guess what I do not like dirt on my clean dishes - I notice gunk in between the forks if I don't wash them and sometimes by other peoples houses too . Hot water with more soap and then rinse really good. I actually found when soaked w/o washing good people think they're clean which is when I personally have found the thin film. Invest in the right scrubbie also helps.

You should check again and see what you’re using. The soap should be something really powerful such as the Palmolive Ultra
and comes in many yummy smelling scents such as ruby red grapefruit!
Also, it’s all about the temperature of the water. By now, I don’t even feel the heat but I really go for almost the hottest setting on my faucet!
Sponge: make sure you’re using something really powerful. I love the green & yellow sponges that let you use the green for everything, and the softer yellow side for stuff like silverware which you shouldn’t scrub to maintain it’s shine.

I love this for pots and pans and bowls: Chore Boy Stainless steel scrubbers
I keep it in the sink and it never turns rusty like traditional steel wool.

Wear gloves and make the water as hot as it can go.

Let your dishes soak for a while in a basin of hot soapy water before washing them

LOL - Whenever my husband washes the dishes I usually have to re-wash them. Some things you just gotta do yourself!

I soak my dishes in soapy water, have tried many different types of soap, and they still have residue after being washed.
DH and I looked at dishwashers last night, maybe once we get one for meat dishes, things will be cleaner!

my trick, the second your done with a pot, pan, bowl, fork, spoon... throw it in, pour some soap and let it sit in hot water. if it sits out on the counter, it gets harder and harder to clean.
then, yuo dont have an accumalation of dishes. clean them within five minutes. at any point in my day, my sinks are NEVER filled.

You are going to be the happiest person in the world when you get a dishwasher.

My dishes are easy to clean, b/c I soak them the second I'm finished (even if I don't, once they soak for a bit, they clean easily), but they still have a bit of residue.

There is nothing like cooking a meal, eating, and just putting all the dishes in the dishwasher, pressing a button and saying toodalooo!! See you when you are clean.
Although dishwashers give a different type residue sometimes.

Yup, me too. I think that many (if not most) people do not wash their dishes really well. I have lent dishes/utensils to many people and usually get it back not totally clean. Yeah, its definitely washed and cleaned just not squeaky clean! I dont mean to brag, but this is something that I am sort of obsessed with. I dont just wash and rinse. I soak, wash, scrub, rinse, check it, scrub again, rinse again..... I use steel wool, oven cleaner, toothbrushes, toothpicks... and yes, it takes me hours to wash dishes I've sometimes watched others wash dishes- 1-2-3 done!
A dishwasher does not do the same job. A fork that was used to make scrambled eggs, will not be clean unless you scrub between each of the tines, which a dishwasher wont do.
So, no I'm such a balabusta and my house is not always sparkling clean, but my dishes are
