Well, I dont know what it is for sure, never heard of black kalking (sp?), only white or white with mold which is what we have. (the latter) I tried to scrub it clean and ended up scrubbing so hard, that the whole thing came off... that can't be good...

you can buy your own white caulking in a tape roll and put it over the black stuff.

I'm not sure about locally, ive only seen it in catalogs. if you do a search for it online, I'm sure you'll find it. I think it's about $10 a roll, something like that.
one day I'll do it too. Very Happy

Use bleach or tilex to scrub it out. Home Depot or Lowes should sell mold resistant culking that you can reapply over the old caulking.

Tilex has a special one just for shower mold. You don't have to scrub it. Just spray & wait & then maybe wipe. It really works

Yup - definitely agree with using Tilex for mold - it works wonders! You can even see a difference before scrubbing!

If your tub is stained, you should try something called Zud, my tub still isn't the greatest after using it, but it's MUCH MUCH better than it used to be.

caulking comes in many colors and in many diff substances for many dif reasons - however I have never seen caulking that comes in mold color. Tubes can be bought in plumbing sections made specifically for bathtub usually white and are bet $2 & $4 at home depot. Never to be put over moldy caulking must be replaced. Why on earth would you move into a place where the landlord is lying to u from the getgo!

spray with tilex (I dont like the one with bleach it can spot anything before you realize it) let it soak for a while, than wash down.

Take some softscrub and pour it on any place where there is mold. Let it sit for around ten minutes. Then take a toothbrush or scouring brush and scrub it. It is sure to come out.
