While riding to celebrate my grades yesterday, my daughter proclaimed.
Mommy no one believes that we are lubavitch. You tell everyone we are but no one believes me.
I said and why is that sweetie?
She says, Mommy we do not have a BIG menorah on our van.
I said, well sweetie those are expensive and usually it's the male that puts that on the van and we do not have a male currently in our family.
Hence forth became an entire discussion on how I need to find a tatty for our home. blah blah blah
she then replys very sternly. My mommy if we are really lubavitch u would still get the menorah and put it on our van no matter what!.
How do u respond to such things?? But very cute! K"H

She's right. We did not have anything missing in our house the 5 yrs I was alone. It wasn't easy but it was worth it. I even built a wooden sukkah and bought mehudar 4 minim.
