Which would you recommend?

I dont really have any cookbooks- just some hand written recipes from family and a few small ones from a couple events. Now I will get one of these two. which would you recommend? What does each "specialize" in?

Im not a big patchky person except for y"t. Always looking for more ideas for weekday suppers for picky eaters that dont take tons of prep time.

which would you get? and why?

Thanks!

I own both of these since I love buying and reading cookbooks. The Bais Yakov Cookbook is ok, but Fresh and Easy is one of my favorites. I actually have a bunch of recipes from there that I use. I love her main and side dishes.

I have the BY not fresh and easy so I can't really compare the two. For the most part I am happy with BY, it has a lot of nice/fancy recipes that will really impress . The cook books is not for someone who wants a basic everyday cookbook. I wouldn't get it as an all round family cookbook but as an extra cookbook to supplement and change things up.

I have both and enjoy both.

I get more regular supper and Shabbos ideas from Fresh and Easy and more interesting or complicated ideas (like stuff I'd make for Yom Tov or Sheva Brachos but not patchke for regular) from the BY one.

Read them both recently, and the Fresh and Easy really spoke to me.

The ingredients seem much more simple and straight forward, less expensive, very practical, and low maintenance.

While I don't have either, Fresh and Easy is on my list of "gifts to get for me." Until then, I'll borrow from a neighbor Smile
