I assume she means not to "fillet" the chicken and bake in soda.
Can you use diet???

I think she means cut the chicken up into parts.. ie drum-bone and top. and then douse the sucker in the soda, and bake.
I dont think baking in diet would be good, as the sweetener would break down.
am I correct?

I have a few recipes for coke chicken. When I was in high school I used to go to a place for shabbos that always served Coke Chicken. I've made their recipe several times, it comes out very sweet and tangy.

splenda is the only sugar substitute that you can bake with.

I make that also, it's really good. I make it all the time.
You can also substitute orange jam for a different flavour, although it tastes very similar.
I also use fat free french dressing.

Mumoo and Only, I think I've made that before, froim the Lub purple cookbook, and it IS really good! We prefer it without the onion soup mix, though.
I think it calls for mayo, jelly, and ketchup.

it’s heavenly! I slice an onion and layer it on the bottom of my crock pot, then I add a whole London broil, a can of coke (never tried with diet but will) , onion soup mix and I say shalom for the day. Then at night, we eat gourmet!
