My friends is having a bar mitzvah in two weeks,
A big Macher from the shul who happens to be the treasurer called
to tell her that she has to pay up the shuls building fund in order for her to have the barmitzvah.she replied that she would have to take out a loan
to pay for it .

I don"t feel its right that another mem ber of the shul should know
what you owe to the shul.

the only reason this women is "treasurer" is because she has alot of Money.

So who is supposed to be in charge of shul finances? An independent agency? In every shul a member takes care of the finances.

Am I correct? This woman is having a simcha in the shul and they want her to pay the rest of the money that the SHUL owes?

This makes it sound like it's money the bar mitzvah family personally owes the shul. If so, the shul SHOULD get money that's due to them. Shuls don't run on nothing. If someone pledged money to the shul's building fund, they need to pay the money.
