I froze a small package of salmon fillet in August and when I just took it out of the freezer, I saw that the packaging was ripped in the middle and the salmon is a little discoloured around the rip as a result. Should I just throw it out or do you think once thawed, I can just cut around that discoloured area and it should be ok?

In case it's not clear, I'm refering to raw salmon.

I think it's safe to eat, but I don't think any of it will taste good now, unless you make salmon salad out it or something...
