I push the dining room table closer to the window, with little kids we cannot light next to the door.

Until now it's been by a window (we were on the 3rd floor), but since we moved we hope this year to do it outside.

My DH used to light across from the mezizah but this year he said he wants to light by the window.

We follow the Chabad Custom of lighting opposite the Mezuza, in the doorway.
This way we can be mesovev Mitzvot, surrounded by Mitzvot!

In our 1st apt, we did near a doorway, in our old place, by the window & I think we'll do that this year in our new house too esp since we're up high & face the street. Real Pirsumei Nisa!
