Sefardim tend to give one name because they think you should be called by your whole name. DD has one name and I love it.

Interesting!
My Sephardic (Greek) cousins all have two names, the first one is from paternal grandfather for first child, maternal gfather for second child, and so on. Second name is the first name of the father (apparently it is very rare because other communities don't give the names of living people). Like:

Eliyahu Moshe (first son) ben Moshe Eliyahu (first son) ben Eliyahu Moshe (second son) ben Moshe David (first son) ben David Bechor and so on (real example).

and brothers would be: Moshe Eliyahu, Daniel Eliyahu and Yaakov Eliyahu (real example again).

Girls are also named after (living or dead) grandmothers, aunts...

Is this common among other Sephardim?
