Which is your favorite, most reliable Kosher cookbook?

I have some Moosewood cookbooks ( all natural vegetarian cooking, so pretty much everything is kosher) that I enjoy a lot. Sundays at Moosewood has an interesting collection ofethnic recipes. Moosewood Cooks for a Crowd is great for entertaining or coking in quantity.

Ineed a new cookbook. I am really looking for something that has a lot of ideas for simple, pareve or milchig) weeknight suppers. I have looked through a lot of the newer kosher cookbooks (Kosher by design series, kosher pallate), and it seems that so many of the recipes are just too fancy for me to make on a regular weeknight. Any ideas- I guess I am really looking for something similar to "Spice and Spirit"

You should try The All in One Pot Cookbook.

The recipes are FAR simpler than KBD and other such books.

I am only familiar with the Jewish cookbooks but I would like to tell you nothing is like spice and spirit that is an amazing cookbook but the following are what I have:

Then there are the nitra cookbooks that are very good I am not sure the complete title I think The Hemishe Cookbook they have 4 different ones.

Thank you both for the suggestions. JMto2- the balebustas choice- it seems like it is a lot of shabbos foods- kugels, kugels, etc.... is it?

I am going to look up the all in one pot one. keep the ideas coming!

Defy- cute avatar. I've seen Borat before. I think he's gross, but Ally G. is a riot. When he said to Gore VIdal- "You're also a hairdresser!" LOL

Balubastas choice has a variety of items a lot of dairy things and dairy cakes etc and they have a nice section in each category really.

Personally, I enjoy these cookbooks:
"Better Homes and Garden's Cookbook"
and -

"The Fanny Farmer Cookbook"

They aren't Jewish. But, I just skip over the recipes which call for non-kosher items.
They both have real easy and quick recipes.

It's pretty similar in the way it's layed out etc...
But, the recipes are not identical.

I find the information they give, aside from the recipes, very helpful.
(like: menu ideas, table setting, nutrition information etc...)

As a side note:
If you ever need a cookbook, go to Barnes and Noble, Waldenbooks, etc. - most bookstores carry cookbooks at discount prices.

It says it was published in 2003.
The recipes are all NORMAL- meaning normal ingredients, normal prep time, normal effort, but taste Great! I haven't tried one that I'm not happy with yet, and trust me, I come from a family of caterers and am picky.

Spice and Spirit.
Has all the basic recipes, and they all work.

I enjoy Suzie Fishbein's/Kosher Palette books.... however mostly bec. they were well put together. Great photos and good graphics. W/o good graphics/photos, I doubt I'd be using them....

It's not on that list.
It's called Gatherings.
Most straightforward great tasting recipes.
