I'm looking to open a playgroup and was wondering what kind of food gets served. What is kid friendly, nutritious, but not too difficult to prepare. If your DC's playgroup does not serve lunch do you pack a lunch?

The few playgroups I checked out all served the exact same thing - peanut butter sandwiches and pasta with ketchup.

I settled on a playgroup that doesn't serve lunch at all. I send along hardboiled eggs, cheese, yogurt, sliced fruits and veggies, and the occasional sandwich.

I am very upset. I send ds to a very proper, legal, well known playgroup and they get pasta almost every day. The lunch is hardly ever nutritious. White rice, pasta, some cut up veggies, maybe tuna or sliced cheese and whole wheat bread. Oh and canned fruit in syrup. UCH!

ETA: I would like to see baked chicken cutlets, baked fish sticks more often than once every few weeks, hamburgers etc... PROTEIN! Veggies besides for just cut up cucumbers like kugels or spinach or even croquettes or something.

This is basically what they served in dd's playgroup IIRC.
Except the tuna was served in a sandwichm not with potato.
