I didn't want to bring this up but since you mentioned it I would like to add that Nuchem Rosenberg has paid people in the past to charge others with molestation. Those people were then let go. I am not saying Mr. Weberman is innocent but after seeing who wrote all the articles to the news I'm not taking sides and defending anyone.

I'm confused. Are you saying these posters don't exist and the gathering didn't happen but Nachum Rosenberg (and I have no idea who he is) wrote these stories for the Daily News and CBS, or are you saying that you're okay with, if the accused is innocent, hanging posters demonizing the accuser and making public gatherings that ultimately ruins the accuser's life?

Most, not all, crimes, rapes, murders, wars... are started by men. Men also have different hormones, and were the "hunters" and the warriors. But men are also individuals. I would runnnn from a rav telling me any man will attack a woman if there is yichud.

Yeah, he looks just like the hunky boyfriend that every preteen dreams of. |
Wait, he also molested a guy?

I didn't say they don't exist. If it did happen then I hope he is found guilty if it didn't happen I hope he is found innocent. What I'm saying is that Nuchem Rosenberg has paid people in the past to post charges against someone about molestation and it wasn't true. The justice system found out about the money and the person was let go free. So when I saw he wrote to the news about this story (you can see his name on a few news sites) I am not taking sides.

You are slandering an innocent man who has devoted his well being and standing in the community to this cause, for the very reason that he used to be brainwashed and part of the cover up. When a newlywed young man asked him for advice of how to deal with a perp rebbe who wanted to continue relations with him after his marriage, apparently Rosenberg was shocked and told the young man outright that he was nuts. The young man later killed himself. And Rosenberg felt a deep shame and sense of responsibility for not believing him.
So, let's ask a really big question here. What does Nuchum Rosenberg stand to gain from reporting on perpetrators in the community? Apparently you are accusing him of paying others to press charges, not that he has gotten paid for making this stuff up. So let me point out to you what he stands to lose. So far he has been excommunicated and nearly murdered for his advocacy.
And regarding your sentence about those accused people being "let go", that should rather be proof that there is a terrible cover up going on in the community. You are correct that you absolutely do not know what you are talking about, and would like to point out that people like you certainly shouldn't slander nor "take sides."

Took care of it how? Is he in jail? No? Maybe just in another community where he can harm others? Why not report to the police? Why try to hide a perv in the community or someone elses? A Jew in jail is not nearly as bad as perv in the community being hidden and helped by a cadre of fans and "esteemed rabbis".

In any case, when I posted this (I didn't make the title btw, although I guess it was more relevant to the topic than my original title), my point was not about whether he did or didn't but about the gathering and the posters about the girl.
My biggest concern about all this is that there are other victims in Williamsburg who are now even more terrified to come out or even talk to therapists about their issues because if they do then there will be posters and asifas about them. Just as none of us know what truly happened, neither do the children in Williamsburg. If any victim thinks there is a remote possibility this girl was abused, then they know that the same could happen to them if they speak out about their own abuse.
That sort of gathering and posters should be illegal (whether or not the defendant is guilty) because it presents a danger to the community in that victims will be scared to come forward and it gives people in power free license to abuse whoever they will.
Private fundraising for someone who you trust and believe in, ok. Making public gatherings and hanging up posters depicting a relations-abuse victim as a threat to the community: heinous.
I hope the jury hears about this. | [spoil][quote][code]
If you are fundraising for the accused, a fellow Jew (at this point he is probably still considered ameesecha) because he is in trouble and needs funding for a defense, where is the fundraising for the the victim, also another Jew in trouble? She obviously needs legitimate professional help whether or not the accusations are true. She either was horribly violated or got caught up in this thorny melodrama. If the response by this community to this tragedy is just reaching out to one person in the situation, that might speak volumes regarding the approach this community takes towards these things. Is anyone actually helping this girl and is it to the same degree that they are helping the man? You've got to scratch your head if they are not.
