Housework: a Greek myth
The yawning maw
of the slavering beast,
dribbling mud and left-over breakfast cereal,
clouds of dirty clothes expelled
from its flared nostrils.
Desperate, I toss in
brooms
and dishwasher loads,
cleaning solution
and gift after gift of tidying.
The ugly mouth gapes.
It roars again,
spraying paper spittle
and a scum of broken toys.
This monster
will not be appeased.

A little bit tongue in cheek, but as you can tell, me and the laundry are not best friends. Don't know if anyone else feels the way I've described! At least writing the poem condensed it down and made me feel a bit better.

How did you know exactly what I've been thinking? Brilliant!
