I got this as a wedding gift 17 years ago, and it's still my favourite cookbook.
Over the years, I've scribbled little notes on the pages of the recipes I've tried-what worked, what didn't, what changes I made etc.
Just this past Friday night, I took it out, and started reading through it...all those notes brought back so many memories of my newlywed days, when I tried to impress my bridegroom with culinary skills!! I guess it was my occasional success that kept him around, as it's certainly not my looks, nor my bank account, nor my winning personality!!
I just took a Yerushalmy kugel out of the oven from that book. Other favourite recipes include the honey cake I make throughout Tishrei, the kishka, meatballs, a vegetable stuffing recipe, and my most stained page is the chocolate cake.
I hope one day to pass that book down to one of my daughters, for the recipes, and well as for the memories. Somehow I doubt they'll find it as valuable as I.

It's a shame this is out of print. I received it as a gift many, many years ago and still use it all the time. My older DD's and DIL's also received it, mainly as a shower gift.
They should update it with pictures and republish. It will for sure be a big seller.

I make the potato leek soup (p133), pepper steak (p 202), chicken pot pie (p 243), and the Szechuan chicken (p245). I make the chicken pot pie with leftover chicken from the soup and it freezes nicely, I bake it after I defrost it.
