I am interested in learning the goals for second grade lemudi kodesh for boys. Second grade teachers out there please help. What would you consider success from your students at the end of the year? what should a 2nd grader graduating into 3rd grade be able to do in terms of limudie kodesh?

I teach co-ed in an OOT yeshiva elementary.
I used to teach in an all-girls school, and have had to change some of my teaching goals in order to make the parents of the boys happy.

Davening- brachos, baruch sheamar, ashrei, yishtabach, shema, all of shemona esray, and aleinu. some people also think the brachos before shema are necessary.

Chumash skills- know common words and translations of many many shorashim and be able to identify them within a word; know common prefixes and suffixes; be able to use these skills to translate phrases within pesukim independently

that's the main stuff, I think....

I have a second grade son what the PP posted sounds right on track for what they hope to cover this year.

additionally practice with reading....reading..more reading...

My son is in second grade. He already started learning rashi letters.
