bran muffins or fruit/yogurt smoothies are a good choice, I think.

Cake is fattening. It's a sweet carb. You're better off with fruit or something else.

Lately I've been heating a slice of frozen whole wheat pizza (low fat), wrapping it in foil, and eating it on the run.

If it's for your dh, do you have 5 minutes to put something together for him? I used to scramble egg whites, tomatoes, and sometimes cheese and stuff I into a warm pita. wrap in silver foil and it's the perfect breakfast on the go, and it only takes 3-4 minutes to put together.

You can make some awsomely yummy smoothies with all kinds of things in them.
Buy a vanilla or chocolate flavored protein powder and get creative! You can even put in tofu, nut butters, oatmeal, seeds, yogurt, any kind of fresh fruit, green tea, cereal...just think of what you'd like to eat and blend it up!

Yes! Oatmeal in smoothies. I know it sounds wierd. I saw a mother here give her baby a bottle with oatmeal and applesauce blended together. The baby seemed to enjoy it. So when I had some teeth pulled and couldn't eat solid food I made all kinds of smoothies. I obviously wanted to pack them full since thats what I had for breakfast, lunch and supper. So I made one with oatmeal, applesauce, banana and honey. It was actually pretty good. It was very thick obviously and I actually ate it with a spoon.
I also made one that came out really good with vanilla protein powder, pineapple juice, and a small green apple.
My kids really like chocolate protein powder, milk (soy, cow or rice) with a handful of frozen berries.
I also just started making some all fruit ones of cantalope and/ or honeydew with pineapple. Very tropical and refreshing.
(I don't think any smoothies are fattening unless you use whole milk. )

Without my power drink in the morning, I can’t make it past the first two hours of the monring! I blend up a bunch of yogurt, milk, a banana, and an orange. It takes me about an hour to sip my way to the bottom and I’m full until my kids come home from school! I’m also too full to grab cookies and stuff like the good old days.
