Oh, I was really brainless yesterday. I had a bunch of heavy items to bring into work from my car- laptop, big bottle of water for before the fast, food, pocketbook. It was all on the passenger seat, so instead of leaning over, I decided to go around and open the passenger door. I took the keys out of the ignition, tossed them in my pocketbook, and make sure to click so the passenger door would be unlocked. Then, as I got out of the car, I clicked again, out of habit- locked all the doors. I realized about two seconds after I slammed the door, effectively locking everything inside.
At work, I walked into a wall several times within one hour.

Last week, left my purse hanging inside the bathroom stall at the mall. Realized it after I walked down the LONG hallway to the exit. Fortunately since it was a remote bathroom, I could tell no one had gone in and I raced back, with my baby loving the fast stroller ride, and retrieved it. Was so upset that if I hadn't noticed right away...oy! My phone, wallet, keys would all be gone:(

I did something so embarrassing. There are 2 phone numbers different to the local numbers which I have stuck in my brain. So I needed to know how to get to a police museum from a certain area we'd be in. So I called up, they answered, I asked how to get to the police museum. They told me they can't help me with that. I said why? I always call this number and they tell me. Well, do you want to go by foot or bus? Ah, that's what the problem was, she thought I wanted to walk!. By bus I said. Well have you got a PC? Yes? Well go to XXXX and you can check on there. Well, do you know if it's all X company? I don't have that information, sorry she said. I grumpily said bye not understanding why the bus information line couldn't give me a single bit of information about buses, and hung up. As I hung up, I realised I'd called the non emergency POLICE number !!! Needless to say, I was MORTIFIED. Even tho they'd never know who it was. I'm just imagining her telling her colleagues, and family about this nutter calling up, and what she's putting down on the call log
I'm reassuring myself that I'm post baby, and all the kids were shouting to me or at each other etc...

gave the 3 week old the sick (bronchitis) 2 year old's pacifier.... didn't realize I was holding the doll and got annoyed why it wasn't burping, almost fed the baby the 2 year old's bottle (different formula), by mistake gave the 2 year old adult formula (pharmacy mix up which I didn't catch for a few days, B"H she noticed and refused to drink it, I chalked it up to her ear infection) left the house with everything to make a bottle besides the bottle, basically my brain is gone!

Not me, but two of my kids two different times. It also wasn't brainless, they just didn't know any better. Now they do . They sifted flour for me and afterwards poured whatever was in the sifter with the rest of the flour .

This past Friday, I put up my eggs for Shabbos, and 2 minutes later, my son's bus driver called that she was downstairs. I switched the gas to low so it won't burn, and when I came back up from the bus the eggs weren't boiling yet. I switched the gas to high and was on the phone for a while, arranging play dates for Shabbos afternoon. When I got off the phone, I remembered that I had an overdue library book and took my kids to the library. An hour later, we were almost home when I heard my smoke alarm and smelled smoke. I came home to a kitchen full of burnt eggshells and an empty pot. I never turned off the gas for the eggs!

They didn't explode up to the ceiling? That's what it usually does. Not like I've done it, but almost . I know of others it has happened to.

They probably did hit the ceiling. The eggshells were all over so they all exploded, and they weren't in the pot anymore. I just wasn't home to see it happen.

I was sitting on my in-laws' couch, reading a book and eating a peach. When I finished the peach, I took the pit and put it on the side. (I must have meant to put it on the side while I finished the chapter or something. )
I didn't realize what I had done until I heard mil say "what do you want me to do with this?"
... I had handed it to mil!
BH I have a super-chilled mil!

I was hemming my sons pants. I put the needle between my lips while unrolling the thread and tying a knot at the bottom. Only to realize I tied the knot BEFORE threading the needle!

I ran a wash with the "spray-n'wash" bottle in the machine. This is not the first time it happened.

That's because you can catch brainlessness by reading this thread.

I made a huge pot of chicken soup. After boiling all the ingredients for 3 hours I strain my soup, keeping the stock and dumping the bones and veggies. This time I forgot to put a pot under the strainer and effectively poured the whole soup down the kitchen sink
