try this, spring onion, mayo, steamed salmon, lettuce, carrot, and a smear of wasabi (optional).
cucumber, pickled plum, never tried that one, but heard it's good.
God Luck!

I take salmon and marinade it in teriyaki sauce over night. I broil the salmon. Mash it when done, add in mayo. sometimes add cucumber, carrots, or sprouts.
white fish- in the purple book is a recipe for tempora. I cook it up. Add a bit of the horseradish mayo. yum. Also something my husband loves is take zechug and mix it with mayo. Use that instead of wasabi or the horseradish mayo.
avacado, fake crab, and cucumber.
pike, bread with seasoned bread crumbs, bake or fry. Put a layer of spinach down on the rice. A dab of mayo down the center. Than the fish and roll. Can also use the zechug.
pure veggie- cuc, avacado, carrots.
fake cream cheese and lox.
take a tuna steak. marinade it with a good rub. cook it (grill or broil). cut it up, put it on in with avacado.
I have found to make sushi is cheaper than gefita fish if I run out of the stuff I get in NY because its so expensive by us (twice the price). So, I get creative with my sushi:) Even zu loves it!

I only like the "fake" ones with veg inside like the California one- avacado and carrot. I am not crazy over it, it's ok.

I used to hate it. Just the thought of raw fish was repulsive to me. Then my husband got into it and I started liking it. But only spicy salmon!!!

I make it all the time! Crush corn chips add wasabi paste and a little mayo. Mix it together. Place it in the center of the rice and roll!
Also try apple slices, and lox, and and use your imagination!

carrots, cucumbers, avocadoes, fried (not raw) sweet potatoes, mangoes.
I wasn't sure how the sweet stuff would come out but it really is very good. eat with wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger.

My husband makes great sushi. He says the secret is in using the short grain 'sushi' rice, cooling it using the paddles and mixing it with the rice wine vinegar. Even Target sells sushi mats and paddles now!

Cream cheese, cucumber and salmon - a 'philly roll'. Not terribly authentic, but YUM.

I love sushi and everyone has such great ideas for the middle. But 1- can someone tell me how to make it. 2 In Israel can I buy the stuff you need to make it? If yes, where?

I have tried all different combos. I'm sure there are some real chefs who will say what is good and what is not, but I like them all. some this way, some that way... I don't think you can go wrong. whatever ingredients you have on hand!
