I vote for royal too. I once needed fish for a catering job and thats what I was given. I got so many rave reviews that its all I use now. And the price is similar to the less expensive brands too!

we used to buy a and b. Then my husband who does most of the shopping saw that dagim started to make gefilte fish rolls. It was on sale in the store that we go shopping and cheaper then a and b. We tried it out and liked it a lot. So now we buy dagim gefilte fish.

Y'know, you can make the rolls into patties and they taste great that way too. Someone mentioned the layered style. I've seen that at weddings & sheva brachot. It's great if you want to impress guests. (I'm not a creative cook, so any help is good) Wink

I buy Ungars by the case from the wholesaler and it comes to $3.08 a roll. I only serve it when we have company. My husband won't eat it and now the boys are mimicing everything Tatty does. I am not cooking $3 worth of fish for me to have to eat the entire thing!

While on the subject of gefilte fish, my husband only likes salmon and I was thinking of getting the salmon gefilte fish for him to try. However at $7 a roll, it seems like an expensive experiment.

I have tried I think just about every brand, and the only gefilte fish that the entire family likes without fail is the A&B. I pay about $6.00 for it in KRM.
