This happened as a teenager (pre shaving days), so I can't blame it on mommy brain. I wanted to spray deoderant underarm and sprayed hairspray. Lovely. I was rushing to a wedding and let me tell you, hairsprayed underarm hair isn't too pleasant.

I own this thread.

A few weeks ago, I was washing the dishes and also trying to make pasta & cheese for supper.

So I took the bottle of dishwashing liquid and instead of pouring it in the sink, I poured it over the fresh spaghetti.

Kids told me the sauce tasted funny, mommy.

I strained an 18 quart pot of chicken soup, but didn't put a pot underneath the strainer - it all went 'down the drain'!!!!

This would make me cry, not laugh.

But why do you strain your soup? What's there to strain?

I was trying to get ready to go to my brothers shabbos sheva brachos when my DS was 5 weeks old and I was rushing like a mad woman. I dressed myself with one article of clothing, stuck a spoonful of oatmeal in 2 year old DD's mouth and and bounced the bouncer and then repeated the whole thing over and over again. All of the sudden I realized that my DS went completely quiet ( which he never did for 4 months straight!). I look over and see the little thing with a massive spoonful of oatmeal in his mouth, his eyes wide open in shock not sure what the heck just happened!

Last night I put my DS in the bathtub fully dressed! Rolling Eyes

I peeled garlic for my chulent, washed each piece of garlic, and cut them in small pieces. Before adding the garlic to the chulent, I threw out all the peels- and all the garlic! Luckily, I still had more garlic and the second time, I was more alert and made sure to throw out all peels before I started cutting.

Ive put my empty cereal bowl in the fridge and bottle of milk in the sink...several times! Hypnotized

once I got out of bed to throw a tissue in the garbage and get a drink. On the way I stopped by the bathroom to tell dh something. I climbed back into bed wrapped up again and realized I still had the tissue in my hand...and when I got up to try again - the fridge was open (obviously I had attempted to get a drink but it didnt quite work out LOL)
Banging head wake up chocolate chips!! Very Happy

I got on the scale one morning and was horrified to see that I gained 18 pounds!! I knew something was off, I got off the scale, reset it, still 18 pounds over. I moved the scales location, shook it.... nothing helped. Then I realized that I was holding my baby.

not being the organized type of person, I was very pround that I organized all my kids clothes. I put away all the winter, and took out all the summer clothes. I even made a list of what I needed and what I had. so the next morning when I went to get my youngest child dressed I realized that I did not have any tops for her since I got rid of all her winter tops.

I was walking home from the grocery, loaded with groceries. I was wondering why its soo heavy. My arms were literally being torn out of their sockets. I finally got home exhausted. Few minutes later when unpacking I realized that besides for my bags I also took someone else's heavy bag. I was really not planning to go out again but I was picturing the poor lady that wants to make supper and can't find her groceries. So with no choice, I schlepped back to the store. When I got to the register I told the guy what happened and was ready to hand him over the bag when I realized that I brought back one of my own bags! and soo I had to go back bring back home and back to the grocery again......

I had promised my friend that I would come to her brother's bar mitzvah. I went to sleep early Friday night so that I would wake up early the next day. Next thing I knew, I was sitting up in bed in a panic - it was 12 o'clock! I jumped out of bed, threw my clothes on in a frenzy, and ran out of my room. Then I saw that it was dark outside - it was 12 midnight!

One morning I brushed my teeth with Desitin (hey, it comes in a tube). Worst start to the day ever.

When I store the baby bottles, I leave the nipple inside the bottle. I poured the milk with the nipple still inside. I did this twice already. The second time was today. The first time I did it, I forgot it was there, but the second time I told myself to take it out and then of course I forgot. Rolling Eyes

I poured water into my cereal instead of milk (both similar kind of bottle tops).

I talked to myself OUT LOUD on the street, after I tripped!!!

Was baking doughnuts the other night, while on the phone to my mother, and looked around frantically for my phone, went into the study looking for it, so I could check what time I had put them in the oven, and the phone was at my ear!
And this is just in the last 2 days Sad

I did this... was on the phone with a friend walking to Aerobics class with my towel and a bag. I got that empty feeling in one hand where you KNOW you've forgotten something but don't know what.
I turned to the friend who was walking with me and said out loud "Oh no! I think I forgot my cellphone!".
She just looked at me, I looked at my hand, and then had to ask the person on the phone if they'd actually heard me saying that.

"If your head wasn't sewn onto your neck, you'd forget where it was..."

Our apartment building looks exactly the same as the one next door (both 3 apartment walk ups - only 2 on the block) - When we first moved in (after being married 2 weeks) DH and I went on some errands and I casually walked into our building and wondered why DH hadn't followed - 'oh well I 'll just open the door and go in he'll follow when he's ready' after trying all my keys I looked at the mail boxes and realized I was in the wrong building. Went outside to find DH patiently waiting for me ' wrong building?' he asked - this happened each time we went out together for about a month. Great way to impress the new spouse Smile

I went home to visit my mother a few years ago in her new apartment complex, and took my nephew for a stroll. Came back, put the key in the door, but it didn't work. Realized it might not be the right door, so I checked the next one over.
As I was opening the door, the first door opened and the Mexican neighbor came out and said something (I think it was in Spanish). I apologized.
In Hebrew. =)

When I first moved to Israel I broke my pinky making my bed. I still am not quite sure how it happened. Kneeled on the bed, finger somehow caught under my knee and snap. (This is not the first time I've somehow managed to break/fracture a finger in a weird illogical way).
The brainless thing was not the accident, it was after I had surgery to put a pin in my finger while it healed.

I came home with a small bottle of pain medication (drops) that I was supposed to put in water and drink whenever it hurt. And it did... so I came home late, roommate asleep and didn't want to bother her by turning on the light.
You know those warning labels? Don't take medicine in the dark?
The inevitable happened. I opened the small bottle sitting on the desk next to my bed, poured the drops into a cup with liquid, and drank. I think it was soda, and I realized there was a weird taste and smell. I picked up the bottle, walked into the hall, and realized I had poured aromatic incense into the cup.

I ended up with a soapy taste in my mouth, and very perfumed burps for a few hours afterwards.
