my tableclothes get creased - any tips?

months ago, I started a thread on this topic. for some reason, I can't get into it anymore. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has any other tips for me. So far I haven't found anything that works.
my tableclothes always get creased when I wash them. I usually hang dry them. I have tried to put it in the dryer too but that didn't work either. the thing is that whenever I'm at people's homes, I see neat, straight tableclothes not creased ones. so.. my question is, how do you do it?

no way. I don't see myself ironing a huge tablecloth. it's also hard for me to believe that people actually do that every week. do people really do that?

Not me! Of course I was shocked when I read the laundry instructions tag in my regular old cotton underwear that suggested using a warm iron after drying it. People iron weird things...

talking about ironing underwear... my husband said that when he was in south america, they had maids who ironed everything for them, from socks to underwear and everything else.

some of my tablecloths don't wrinkle too badly, and if I lay the cloth on the table Thurs by Fri night there are no creases left (these are the 'magic' tablecloths that don't stain).

I iron the other ones.

can you take them out of the dryer while they're less than completely dry? and then fold them when they're still warm.

Of course many people iron the tablecloths.
The only other option would be to get a tablecloth that is not cotton. Cotton tablecloths always have to be ironed.

You could use plastic on top of the tablecloth and then only wash the tablecloth every few months.

I don't put them in the dryer at all. I fold them right away but they're still creased. U think it will make a difference if I put them in for a little?

yes, and fold them when they're hot. They're getting creased from the spin cycle in the washer. But, because of the way washing machines work, I don't think that leaving out the spin cycle is going to help either. So, spin it as much as your machine will let and put it in the dryer and then take it out when its still HOT, and fold immediately.

Depending on the material if folded straight away it shouldn't need irioning perhaps invest in one of those.

I have two that resist stains though I put on a plastic anyways and no need irioning it is from Israel, shiny with a beautiful embroidery on .
The polyester kind.
I think it's possible to buy them in the states too. Well worth it imo. Smile

you can have it done by the cleaners (or yourself) and leave it on the table all week. then put your vochdike tablecloth on top of it.

that's what I do. it stays perfect that way!

I send them to the cleaners. It is not often since I keep plastic on top of it when we eat.
