the following incident deserves its own thread, but I was reminded of it when I read the thread on "car accident", hence the title of this thread.
this past shabbos my husband and I were talking about tzaddikim, and my husband related the following story: 30+ years ago in williambsurg, the satmar rebbe, rabbi yoel teitelbaum, was the undisputed leader and tzaddik. one night after kol nidrei he walked from his seat in shul to his house (which was connected to the shul). on the way, he passed 2 flights of metal stairs where the children all used to sit. and he stopped walking, and just stared at the stairs for a few minutes, and then continued walking further. the next day in middle of davening, the two flights of stairs - jam packed with children - came crashing down. there were children underneath the stairs, and children on every single step AND NOT A SINGLE CHILD GOT SO MUCH AS A SCRATCH!!! hard to believe, but my husband heard this story from several people - all of who were there when it happened.
