I offered my almost 3 year old some fish (to eat)
He said. Noooo...I can't eat fish!
Why? I asked.
"Coz they might swim away!!"
I call my mother in law Ima, my son calls her bubby and my husband calls her Mom. When my son started getting confused and calling her Ima, I told him that he should call her Bubby. Shortly after, my mother in law phoned and after talking to her, I passed the phone to my husband who greeted her with Hi Mom how are you? Son immediately said, No, You have to call her Ima!!
My daughter (16 months) always turns up her little cute nose to any chicken in any form. EXCEPT shish kebabs. She ate almost 3 sticks. And my son too. I was so excited I took a photo! I also made zuchinni kugel in muffin tins for a sheva brochos I am making (to make it easier to serve, anyone can pm me for the recipe) and my kids thought it was cupcakes and wolfed down at least 5 of them each!!! Go figure. I think I'll bake mashed carrots and celery in muffins tins and they'll eat them! I am learning that with kids its all about presentation or maybe you should call it MISREPRESENTATION!!!

Oh and yes I do too alot of my cooking for kids sake in muffin containers, frozen cubes ball shapes etc and presentation is so important I notice the smaller bite size wether it's a size of a frozen cube or muffin shape or a bite size rum ball which it is not .They will eat.
Slowly years and many kids later I am learning lol. Since I think large of anything puts them off

Representation makes all the difference. My daughter doesn't like fish patties or schnitzel. On one occasion she looked at it and said, is that a cookie? I told her it was a fish cookie.
Now we have chicken cookies and fish cookies and all the kids eat them all the time!

my 4 yr old was asking my sister what each body part is named. like this is a chin, this is a elbow etc...
so they got to the forehead and he was arguing that it is the brain.
she explained that this is the forehead, and the brain is behind the forehead.
a few hours later he came to my sister running in with a scarf - and he asked her where do you put this on? on your neck or on your forebrain?
oy it was so cute.
