I have a friend who always uses Windex on her diamond ring - she claims it's the best!

My Mother always boiled her rings in water with a couple of drops of dish detergent.

You can also buy jewellery cleaner that is a dip and comes with a little brush - I got mine at a jeweller.

*I haven't checked the old thread mentioned above, so maybe these have already been posted... I am going to read it now - always good to get a new "tip"!

sara, maybe that's why u need so many prongs to hold in ur diamond, the ammonia is eating up the gold! You also have to dilute the ammonia.

ok, if u feel so strongly about it. Confused

I was only trying to help.

Here is the first link that I found when I typed my question into google.

http://www.diamondwholesalecor.....amond!.html

It says to dilute ammonia half & half & let it soak for 30 minutes.

Although it doesn't say what would happen if u didn't.....

Having worked with diamonds for three years, soak ure diamond in vodka on the rocks!! Alchohol works a charm, then take some washing up liquid and gently brush with a soft bristled tooth brush all the nooks and grannys of the ring.....it'll sparkle like anything!
